Application:
Print, digital, social media, and outdoor.

In 2018, it was 100 years since women gained the right to vote. International Women's Festival wanted to honour this historic landmark with strong portraits of Manchester women. Each image is treated as a tin-type, also known as a melainotype or ferrotype; a technique for creating photographs in the 1870's that continued into the early 20th century. Each woman is a Manchester resident and all with a story to tell.

“Each model for the campaign was a Manchester resident. Jane, opposite, was born deaf and wanted to communicate a message through sign language to not only her community, but to everyone else”.

“The direction of the photography made these proud Manchester women feel empowered.”
